e-Learning Instructional Designer

HALIGHT is a leading e-learning, application development and communications company. We are currently seeking an Instructional Designer to add to our growing e-learning practice.

As an Instructional Designer, you will work as a key member of e-learning project teams to develop custom e-learning programs for HALIGHT customers. Responsibilities will include needs and content analysis, learning strategy design, storyboard and script development, quality assurance and evaluation. You will work collaboratively with other specialists including project managers, client subject matter experts, graphic designers, web development specialists, and production project managers.

You will develop programs that include web based training (tutorials, simulations, case-based), blended learning, electronic performance support systems, and other knowledge products. Responsibilities will also include assistance on HALIGHT learning and performance consulting projects providing guidance and direction to customer learning strategy efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with clients to determine training/education requirements for target audience.
  • Analyze customer provided content to determine appropriate instructional strategies, structure and sequence for learning programs
  • Prepare instructional design blueprints and documentation
  • Prepare detailed e-learning storyboards and scripts
  • Design, develop, and author appropriate training and educational course materials including instructor-led and e-learning courses.
  • Contribute to evaluation and QA of e-learning programs

Experience Requirements:

  • 3+ years in e-learning design and development - analysis, design, development, delivery.
  • Experience in the development and production of e-learning courseware.
  • Skills and Knowledge Requirements
  • Strong, interpersonal, communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Superior instructional writing skills
  • Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Development experience with Macromedia/Adobe or other leading e-learning authoring tools (desired asset but not required)
  • Awareness of industry standards (such as SCORM and AICC) and their application in e-learning content development.
  • Strong business acumen and professional communication skills to work directly with e-learning customers
  • High level of flexibility, creativity, persistence, dependability and a willingness to try new approaches and explore innovative knowledge transfer techniques.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required in instructional design or e-learning related program. Masters Degree preferred
